Searching for my soul
I am a Christian but always I am not living as a Christian. What I meant was I use cursed words. I am not trying to use them but as cola coming out from a vending machine, nasty words come out of my mouth. Sometimes I see myself and surprise with my language. I know it is a bad habit and other people might think I am a brat but I still say it.
“How can I change my habit? Please help me.” I want to say it like previous sentence to Dr. Phil. But it is not the reality. I need to pray more and live better life. Oh most of all, I need to grow up. May be I am childish…

James, I don't really think using "curse words" is in any way compromising to your Christianity. I am a pretty devout Catholic and I've spoken with my priest about profanity as well. He says it's not really ignorance in the fact of God, but ignorance to ourselves and to those we use the curse words towards and against. Don't take everything the world has to offer in a literal meaning, you'll just end up punishing yourself too much.

Yeah I often question my faith when I let a dirty word slip or something else happends.

hmm....well I don't know...I know that I am a Christian and sometimes I let a bad word slip out. I think though that if you really wanna ditch the habit then you need to really watch what you say...try to catch yourself before it comes out of your mouth...it takes alot...trust me, I used to have bad language..I had to spend time in prayer about it and I had to rely on God to help me and I had to do my part and watch my language with extra care...that is about all the advice I can give you. I hope it helps. Oh and it helps to have another Christian to keep you accountable. This is just a little bit of stuff that I have learned...I hope it helps..God Bless!

the easiest way to rid of the habit is to surround yourself with people that don't cuss. or, you can have a good friend hit you every time you cuss. haha
just because you cuss, doesn't mean you're bad or that your faith is weak. we're human- and humans aren't perfect.

James man, I have been a christian all of my life and have always gone to church so on and so forth but i dont believe that swearing or cussing is a sign that you are not a good christian. Swearing is just a way of releasing ones emotions, however, if done too much it can be considered ignorant.
